Programming Boot Camp will be held in-person on Saturdays during Fall 2025 semester.


Application/Registration Closed

Fee waivers may be available for non-GGC students who meet academic criteria (GPA of 3.3 or higher).

Purpose

Prepare Students for Success in Programming and IT Courses

  • Help students with prior programming experience (Java or Python) refresh their knowledge before taking advanced IT courses.

  • Encourage engagement with peers and faculty through class activities.

  • Provide additional practice through workshops and exercises.

Tentative Schedule (November 1 and 15, 2025 - Classrooms: A 1710,1900,1910,1920,1930)

Session 1: Intro to data science, team up, come up with hypothesis, and select dataset from Kaggle

Session 2: Intro to Python and project setup on Github

Session 3: Intro to Jupyter, numpy, and pandas. Data cleaning.

Session 4: Visualization and query the data to make sense

Session 6: Storytelling: layout of a presentation. Convert Jupyter to HTML and publish on Github Pages. Incorporate new results and beautify them.
